Morel Mushroom Powder

morel mushroom powder

Morel mushroom powder is a simple way to use your dried morel mushrooms throughout the year in all kinds of dishes. Morels are coveted, umami-flavored mushrooms that are excellent for drying because they are hollow. You can always choose to rehydrate the whole, dried mushroom, but if you are looking for an alternative way, morel mushroom powder may be what you are looking for.

Morel mushroom powder can be added to soups, stews, sauces, whisked into eggs for omelets or scrambled eggs, or added as a seasoning for meat, fish, or vegetables. Note that you should not be using dried morel powder as seasoning unless they are cooked into food.

Morel mushroom powder adds a delicate, filling, rich flavor to any dish. Morel mushrooms are in general one of the world’s most coveted mushrooms, and for a good reason. Try it out yourself and you’ll know what all the fuss is about.

The powder is super easy to make, the only things you’ll need are a grinder or blender, dried morel mushrooms, and a container with a sealed lid. It is important to store the morel mushroom powder properly so that it stays good for many months and in some cases even years. This depends on how well the morels have been dried. If the drying process of the morels has been done correctly and the morels contain 0% water the powder can stay good for years.
